Zbigniew Kurkowski ( 1936 – 2005 )
Title: Landscape
Size: 25cm x 30cm ( 28cm x 33cm framed ) ………… $495.00

This wonderful plein-air composition by the contemporary Polish artist Zbigniew Kurkowski is a perfect example of his quick spontaneous brushwork. Here he has captured the dramatic sunlight effect on the landscape after a passing storm. The style and subject are very typical of his work in the early nineteen eighties.

Zbigniew Kurkowski was born June 13, 1936 in Krakow, Poland. Studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under Edward Kokoszka and Aleksander Kobzdej, graduating in 1963. In 2001 the President of the Republic of Poland awarded Zbigniew the Silver Cross of Merit for his artist achievements. The Museum Przykowskis organized a retrospective in 2011 with the aid of works held in the National Museum in Kielce, Office of Art Exhibitions in Kielce and various private collections.
