Scene: ” Costal view of the Mourne Mountains
Size: 24″ x  36″ ( 30 1/8″ x 42 3/8″ framed )  ………….. $1,695.00

This painting has all the elements one would expect composed in a Rowland Hill painting. Cottages in the foreground, a portion of coastline and a mountainous background in a partly cloudy sky. Although untitled, we believe this is a view of the Mourne Mountains.

Rowland Hill was born in Belfast where he attended the Belfast College of Arts. At age 16, three of his oils paintings were accepted for exhibition at the Royal Ulster Academy. In 1964  he was elected as an Associate of the Royal Ulster Academy (ARUA) and exhibited a total of 17 works at the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) between 1935 and 1966. Hill resided just north of Belfast in Jordanstown, County Antrim and often went on painting excursions with fellow artist Theo Gracey and Padraic Woods. His paintings were sold locally through the Magee Gallery of Belfast and the Cooling Galleries of London and their Toronto location.
