Richard Montpetit is a Montreal artist, well known for his impressionist style urban scenes in and around the city. This delightful, small-format painting gives the onlooker a feeling of “peering out a window” into the urban landscape on a winters day. The artist was born in Montreal in 1950 and is the son of the Quebec painter Rolland Montpetit. Interesting enough, Richard’s son, Raphael Montpetit is also an accomplished artist and paints in a similar style.
