Born in Tallin, Estonia, Eslon studied art in Munich from 1918-1919 under Adolf Hengel. His first solo exhibition was is 1921 and he latter became a member of the “Estonian Artist Union “ (1923-1928). In 1926 aided by scholarship funding, Eslon travelled to Italy to further his training (1926-1927). He was also a member of the “New Artists Association” (1930-1940), a group formed by previous members of the “Estonian Artist Union “. In 1944, with the Soviet re-occupation of Estonia, Eslon fled to Sweden, and in 1948 immigrated to Canada where he resided until his death in 1961.
