Artist Biography
Jean Murray Crozier (1901–1972) was a Canadian painter known for her atmospheric landscapes in both oil and watercolour. Born in Caledonia, Ontario, she devoted much of her career to depicting the rural character, architecture, and seasonal beauty of Canadian settings.
Crozier was a member of the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC). Her work demonstrates a strong sensitivity to light, colour, and atmosphere, qualities that continue to attract collectors of twentieth-century Canadian art. Influenced by the Canadian landscape tradition, she developed a distinctive style that combined strong design with an intimate observation of place.
