Jacques Poirier transposes his very personal perception of nature onto canvas to create paintings which reflect the enchanting Canadian landscapes. A self-taught artist, he was born in Drummondville Quebec in 1942 and has been painting for the past thirty years.
Jacques practices his craft using oil on canvas, silk-screening, and watercolour. This variety gives him the freedom to capture the mood and vision that has taken hold of him at that moment. Perfectionist to the extreme, sensitive and warmhearted, the artist offers art lovers well-balanced, original compositions in which natural, clear subjects can be found.
Jacques Poirier is a founding member of the art studio at the University of Sherbrooke and is also a member of the Institute of Figurative Arts. He continues to be very successful throughout North America.
