In 1952 she exhibited two watercolours at the Royal Canadian Academy (RCA), #21 Giant Elm and #22 Wintertime. Also in 1952, she exhibited #25 Tree Pattern with the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA). In 1961 she again exhibited with the OSA, #19 Harvest Moon. Hilda became an elected a member of the Canadian Society of Painters of Watercolour (CSPW) in 1961.
After the artist’s death, the Niagara District Art Association established the Hilda Danks trophy, an annual juried art show for the best watercolour artist. Janet Clemency “Jacy” Kington (Danks), the artist’s daughter was the proud recipient of this very award.
